Everything you need to know to successfully list, promote, and sell out your events on Hotspot JA.
We built Hotspot JA because the old ways of promoting events in Jamaica are broken, expensive, and hard to track. Here is how we compare to traditional advertising methods.
Extremely expensive ($100k+ JMD), cannot target specific demographics accurately, and impossible to track how many tickets were sold directly from an ad.
Algorithms limit your reach to less than 10% of your followers. Sponsored posts are saturated, and users must click multiple links (Linktree → Ticket site) losing conversions.
Great for loyal supporters, but completely useless for reaching new audiences or scaling your event beyond your immediate circle.
Extremely expensive to produce and distribute. There's no way to track how many people actually bought a ticket from seeing a billboard, and viewers cannot instantly purchase a ticket.
100% of our users open the app specifically looking for events. You aren't competing with memes or news; you're reaching people ready to spend.
Users discover your event, view the details, and purchase tickets instantly in one seamless flow without ever leaving the platform.
Listing your event on the calendar is currently completely free. Please note that it will cost to submit events in the coming months.
Before you can host an event, you need to set up your Promoter Profile.
Sign up using your email, Google, or Apple ID. Head over to the Profile section and fill out your basic information.
Users trust verified hosts. In your settings, you can submit documentation to receive a verified blue checkmark next to your name. This significantly increases ticket sales conversion rates.
A well-crafted event listing is the difference between a sold-out show and an empty venue.
We believe in transparent pricing. No hidden costs. No subscription fees to list.
When you sell a ticket through Hotspot JA, a standard fee is applied to cover payment processing (credit card fees) and platform maintenance.
* Per ticket sold. This includes all credit card processing fees. You can choose to absorb this fee, or pass it on to the buyer at checkout.
Payouts are processed automatically 24-48 hours after your event successfully concludes. Funds will be transferred directly to the Jamaican bank account you provide in your Host Profile settings.
Use the built-in scanner in the Hotspot JA app to scan attendee QR codes at the door. It instantly verifies validity and prevents duplicate entries—even offline.
Want to guarantee your event is seen by thousands? Use our built-in promotional tools.
Pay to pin your event to the top of the calendar or the 'Featured' carousel for 24 hours, ensuring maximum visibility during peak times.
Send a direct alert to the phones of all users who have favorited similar events or who follow your promoter profile.
This is not a call to abandon what has worked. The billboard, the radio spot, the handshake at the market, these are not relics. They built brands, moved product, and connected businesses to communities long before any of us had a screen in our pocket. That foundation deserves the highest respect.
But we now live in an era where the internet is no longer just a place people visit, it is the environment people live in. And every environment demands its own language. A musician does not play at a concert hall the same way they play at a backyard cookout. Same talent, same songs, same heart, but the room demands a different approach. The principles of great advertising have never changed: know your audience, earn their attention, deliver real value. What has changed is the surface area of possibility.
We have tools today that allow a message to find exactly the right person, at exactly the right moment, on exactly the right platform, with the ability to listen, adapt, and respond in real time. To ignore these tools is not loyalty to tradition. It is simply ignoring the future.
The strongest position is not either/or. It is the business that plants its flag on every terrain, that shakes the hand and sends the notification, that runs the radio spot and ranks on the search page, that tells the story on the wall and in the feed. The new era of the internet does not replace the art of advertising. It amplifies it.
Embrace every tool available. The audience is waiting on all of them.
